Cris Blehar was a 65-year-old white trans woman whose life was taken on May 19, 2021 in the Meade County, Kentucky region. Cris has served our nation and retired from the US Air Force. According to local news, a suspect has been charged with her murder and a trial date has been set for June 2022. The young man who murdered her is 18. He’s 18. A kid. And he killed her for some unknown reason.
Police were called to a home on Woodland Avenue to perform a wellness check on Blehar when they found her with apparent knife and bullet wounds.
Kentucky State Police learned Petty had been there the Wednesday before so they brought him in for the investigation. Police said in the citation that Petty admitted to them that he killed Blehar by stabbing and shooting her with a long rifle. He also told police he covered up her body with clothing, grabbed the gun and left.
“There was no relationship between the victim and the suspect. We believe he worked for her,” said Kentucky State Police Trooper Nicholas Hale in an email.
A family member reached out to HRC
